PROGRAMMES: OVERVIEW
In the fast changing environment both globally as well as in the domestic sector, organisations have to continuously learn and adopt the technologies and management practices. Recognizing this need, APGENCO’s apex training and development centre, Training Institute, VTPS delivers training programmes on wide gamut of topics covering management development, construction, operation & maintenance of power plants – thermal, gas, hydro and information technology. There are certain planned intervention programmes which also find place in our Annual Training Calendar.
 

 
Long Duration Programmes
Since its inception, the Training Institute, VTPS has designed and implemented the long duration Induction level Programme for Assistant Engineers (Electrical / Mechanical / Telecom / Civil / Instrumentation) to familiarize them with the operation & maintenance of power plants.

Information Technology
The Training Institute, VTPS also conducts various computer training programme to employees of APGENCO in all levels to be well versed with latest know how of the rapidly changing field of information technology. The programmes in this field are:
a)    Microsoft Office and General Concepts
b)    Database Applications using Microsoft Access
c)    AutoCAD
d)    Database applications using Visual Basic
e)    Oracle with Visual Basic

Other Training Programmes
The institute also conducts vigorous training programmes to all levels of employees of APGENCO to enhance their working skills and expertise in the relevant fields. The programmes planned during this year are as follows:

Refresher courses for skilled workers on “Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Stations”

Management Training programmes to the engineers and executives of APGENCO on various topics
   ranging from one day to three days.

Induction Training to the sub-engineers.
