The APGENCO has established two laboratories
viz. transformer oil testing laboratory & Energy meter testing laboratory in the Training
Institute, VTPS with state of the art, micro processor controlled equipment. The environment
& the equipment of the laboratories comply with the requirements of the relevant Indian
and International standards.
The transformer oil testing laboratory has facilities for testing such important
characteristics of insulating oil as Acidity, Dielectric strength, Flash |

|
point, Inter facial tension, Tan Delta (Dielectric
Dissipation factor), Specific resistance, water content and dissolved gas Analysis.
The laboratories undertake testing of transformer oil samples and energy meters of private
parties besides those of APGENCO & APTRANSCO.
